Startup Procedure
|
|
|---|
|
ELECTRICAL HAZARD Only qualified personnel should perform system startup. Ensure all PPE is worn and Lockout/Tagout procedures are followed, where applicable. Failure to follow these instructions may result in death or serious injury. |
Verify Installation
-
Confirm all AC and DC connections are properly terminated and torqued.
-
Confirm the Manual Service Disconnects (MSD) are installed in each battery pack.
MSDs are removed from battery packs during shipping. -
Close the door on the battery side of the cabinet.
-
Close the battery disconnect switch on the High Voltage (HV) box.
-
Reset the E-stop button.
The E-stop is engaged during shipping.
Apply Auxiliary AC Power
Perform the following only after completing the above steps.
-
Supply the 240 Vac auxiliary power to the AES Cabinet and close the AC breaker on the HV box.
-
Wait for the Thermal Management System (TMS) and Battery Control Unit (BCU) to power up.
If the above procedures are performed out of order, a pre-charge fault will occur, the contactor will not engage, and power from the DC battery is not sent to the inverter.
Power Up the Inverter
-
Wait for the inverter to power up from either the battery or AC input.
-
Close the AC disconnect feeding the inverter.
-
Confirm the inverter recognizes the battery through the LYNK II Gateway via CANbus.
Monitor Initial Conditions
-
Confirm the State of Charge (SOC) is within operational range.
-
Verify all system alarms are cleared.
-
Use the Sol-Ark interface or LYNK Access software to confirm:
-
Battery communication
-
Voltage and current levels
-
Temperature readings
-
Shutdown Procedure
|
|
|---|
|
ELECTRICAL HAZARD Shutdown must be performed in a controlled environment. Always isolate AC and DC sources before disconnecting any equipment. Failure to follow these instructions may result in death or serious injury. |
-
Stop Charge/Discharge Operations
-
Use the inverter interface to stop all charge and discharge activity.
-
Open all DC disconnects and AC disconnects on the inverter.
-
Wait until the battery current reads 0 A.
-
-
Turn Off the Inverter.
-
Power off the inverter using its built-in switch.
-
-
Press the E-Stop button on the AES Cabinet to open the internal contactors.
-
Open the battery disconnect on the HV box to isolate the battery from the inverter.
-
Turn off the auxiliary power.
-
Switch off the 240VAC auxiliary supply to the cabinet. Open AC Breaker on HV Box.
-
Wait for the BCU and TMS to fully power down.
-
-
Remove Manual Service Disconnects (MSD).
-
Carefully remove all the MSDs from the battery packs to isolate internal DC power from the HV box and system components.
-
-
Close and lock all cabinet doors. Apply a warning tag on the door: “De-energized – Maintenance in Progress.”
