Cables for Closed-Loop Communication Without LYNK II

The communication cable between the HELIOS ESS battery and the connected inverter-charger can differ depending on the pin outs used for CAN communication by the inverter-charger.

The following identifies the cable requirements for inverter-chargers the HELIOS ESS battery supports for closed-loop communication without using the LYNK II Communication Gateway.

Closed-Loop Communication Without LYNK II

Straight Cable

The HELIOS ESS supports closed-loop communication with the following inverters through a CAT6 or higher cable. Refer to HELIOS ESS Closed-Loop Communication - Supported Inverters.

  • Deye SUN 3-16K single-phase, 5-12K three-phase Hybrid Inverters

  • GROWATT SPH 8000TL-HU-US, SPH 10000TL-HU-US Inverters

  • Luxpower LXP-LB-US 8/10/12K Hybrid, SNA-US 6000 ECO Hybrid Inverters

  • NOARK 3K - 8K single-phase and 5K - 12K three-phase low-voltage Hybrid Inverters

  • Sol-Ark 5K-1P, 6K-1P, 8K-1P, 10K-1P, 5K-2P, 8K-2P, 8K-2P-L, 12K-2P, 15K-2P, and 18K-2P (Outdoor)

  • Solis S6-EH2P9.6K03-SV-YD-L-US, S6-EH2P11.4K03-SV-YD-L-US, S6-EH2P12K03-SV-YD-L-US, S6-EH2P14K03-SV-YD-L-US, S6-EH2P16K03-SV-YD-L-US split-phase low-voltage Hybrid Inverters

  • SUNSYNK 3K - 16K single-phase and 8K - 12K three-phase low-voltage Hybrid Inverters

Connect the CAT6 or higher cable from the battery’s COM2 port directly to the Battery CAN port on the inverter.

NOTICE

EQUIPMENT DAMAGE

  • Use a straight-through cable. Do not use a cross-over cable.

  • Isolate unused pins. Crossing pin functions may cause system damage.

  • Do not terminate unused wires to ground, power, or other functions.

  • Mixing this communication line with the LYNK Network may result in equipment malfunction and damage.

Failure to follow these instructions may result in equipment damage.

Create Your Own Cable
