DC Cable and Wiring

When pairing the AES battery cabinet with a Solis inverter, discharge performance is governed by the inverter's battery input rating, which ranges by model from 32.1 kW to 55 kW. The AES CAB-106 / CAB-160 / CAB-210 supports continuous output of 52 / 78 / 104 kW (C/2 rate) or approximately 157 Adc.

In applications that use two Solis S6-EH3P inverters connected to a single AES battery cabinet, the inverters’ DC input is limited to the cabinet’s continuous current rating of 157 A, which is split between the inverters for an even power distribution. Multiple AES battery cabinets may be required to support the full output of two inverters.

Properly Rated Cables. Cables for high-voltage DC connections should be rated at least 1 kV to provide a safety margin for the system’s maximum battery voltage of 375 Vdc (CAB-106), 575 Vdc (CAB-160), or 750 Vdc (CAB-210). This enables compliance with AS/NZS 5000 or AS/NZS 3008 for derating calculations.

NOTICE

EQUIPMENT DAMAGE

  • Confirm the polarity of all DC connections before powering on the system. Incorrect polarity can damage the equipment and void the warranty.

  • The AES battery cabinet supports a maximum charge/discharge current of 157 A, or about 78 A per port. Use appropriately sized fuses to maximize charging and discharging energy without compromise.

Failure to follow these instructions may result in equipment damage.
