More Than Three Battery Installation Procedure (Busbar)

To connect more than three batteries in parallel, use busbars sized so that they are capable of handling the maximum total charge and discharge current capacity of the loads and batteries.

NOTICE

EQUIPMENT DAMAGE

  • To maintain UL9540 DC ESS certification, connect the HELIOS ESS batteries in groups of one (1), two (2), or three (3) batteries as shown in the following diagrams.

  • The internal busbars within each HELIOS ESS battery limit the maximum allowable current of paralleled batteries. Refer to the table in the Minimum Specifications for Battery Systems topic for current ratings.

  • To determine the maximum system current, multiply the current from the applicable row (1 battery, 2 batteries, or 3 batteries) by the number of corresponding parallel groups.

Failure to follow these instructions may result in equipment damage.

NOTICE

BALANCING BATTERY CELLS

All DC positive and DC negative cables from the busbar to each battery should be the same gauge and same length.

Failure to follow these instructions may result in equipment damage.
