Tools and Materials

OEM-rated gasket material or replacement kit

Plastic scraper or adhesive remover

Clean lint-free cloth

Mild soap or alcohol-based cleaner

PPE: gloves, safety glasses

Safety Preparation

De-energize the system completely.

Verify all MSDs are removed and the cabinet is safe to open.

Remove Old Gasket

Open the affected door or panel.
-
Gently remove the old gasket using a plastic scraper.

Clean the gasket track to remove adhesive residue.

Surface Cleaning

Wipe surfaces with cleaner and allow to dry fully.

Ensure the channel is smooth and clean.

Install New Gasket

Apply gasket according to OEM orientation and tension.

Press firmly to ensure full adhesion and compression seal.

Seal Inspection

Close the panel/door and inspect for uniform contact.

Confirm no gaps or misalignment.

Test for Fit

Perform a visual and manual check for enclosure closure.

Ensure no interference with door latching or sealing surfaces.

Document Work

Log the replaced gasket location, material batch, and service date.
