The following describes how to restore the protective coating on the AES Cabinet enclosure and prevent the spread of rust or corrosion caused by surface damage.
Tools & Materials

OEM-approved touch-up paint or rust-inhibiting primer

Fine grit sandpaper or wire brush (non-sparking)

Clean lint-free cloth
-
Isopropyl alcohol or mild degreaser
-
PPE: gloves, safety glasses, respirator if spraying

Paint, C4H Standard, Color: Light Grey - RAL 7035, Anthracite Grey - RAL 7016

De-Energize System

Confirm the system is powered down, all MSDs are removed, and auxiliary power is disconnected.

Surface Preparation

Gently sand the affected area to remove loose rust and paint.

Wipe clean with alcohol or degreaser to remove dust and oils.

Primer Application (if bare metal is exposed)

Apply a light coat of rust-inhibiting primer.

Allow to dry per manufacturer instructions.

Touch-Up Paint

Apply OEM-specified paint in thin, even layers.
-
Avoid overspray near vents or electrical areas.

Drying & Inspection

Allow full cure per product label.
-
Inspect for coverage and adhesion.

Documentation

Record repair location, date, and technician in the Service Log.
